Paul + Amy; engagement

finally finished the set. heres a few i'd like to share, had a blast shooting this couple. very fun!

i had this set planned out for awhile, wasnt really sure on how to approach... so i told him to tell her secrets. of course, couldnt hear what they were saying since i was behind the glass. one of my favorites with the stitching.

one of the few shots i actually used my flash. we took numerous shots at this setting, the doors provided a nice background.

inspired pose by one of their favorite photographers.

that grass was sure dirty and gets your skin irritated. paul's shirt got stained and my skin got all itchy. but it was well worth the shot i think.

gotta have the artsy shoe picture. told them to link pinkies to add artsy points ;)

tried to moriyama it up. bw high key, my attempt.

towards the end of the night of shoot 2, both my toes were in unbearable pain. but i had to go for the obligatory sunset shot. i was quite happy with the result.

one of my favorite shots from the whole set. from the condo, i had to do something "epic."

howdy,

went to yamanashi to see some fireworks this weekend. it was absolutely spectacular, greatest fireworks show ive seen. imo. hawaii is in a week or so, i must take care of some things before heading overseas. like packing.

also, its been awhile since ive done a vlog, so heres one for you guys. not much comedy, but please enjoy!

hiya,

been rethinking back and a whole lot has changed in just one year! mind blown.. but its time to put it all behind and finally move on, me thinks.

recently visited a friend in yamanashi. such an awesome place, definitely will be visiting again soon. i absolutely love the countryside, so serene and beautiful.

from there, there i went to an onsen on top of a mountain with a lookout of the whole city at night. it was amazing. best onsen by far, hands down.. and only 700 yen!
after that there was touring the many sides of fuji-san. stunning, still puzzled by the fact that people climb that thing...

then there was the shibazakura matsuri. it was too early though, not all the flowers bloomed... after that there was this ice cave thing, pretty crazy.

overall the trip was awesome. felt so refreshed to whip out the camera once again.

howdy!

been really hectic these past few weeks. moved and settled in, started work and all that good stuff. so now i live in saitama working at kaneko junior high and elementary schools. i love it! all the teachers are so awesome and the students are great. now apparently the guys think im cool too. found out that i have a fan club established amongst the girls... mind blown..

moving on! photographed my good friend's wedding, mike and kaori. once again congrats on the newlyweds! had a fantastic time there and got to practice my wedding photography.

also got a chance to ohanami at kichijoji, wonderful time.

thought my camera was brokeneded, but it was the defected grip the whole time. made my lcd go bananas, a tear dropped..

so. going gripless, feels weird, but i guess ill go out and buy a new one in japan.

finally something to write home about,

just finished up school not too long ago, heading overseas to japan in about two months. i can hardly wait! ill be staying in iruma, around the saitama area. it is about an hour away from tokyo. heard theres going to be a costco in iruma... wholesale boxes of flavored kitkats, excited. other than that ive had a fantastic start of a new year minus being fat. the next two months are sure going to be hectic.

lately ive been craving some dim sum and loco moco. i wish i could stop over at hawaii and get some loco moco before heading off to japan. legit...

in other news, bought a canon s90 since im too lazy to lug around my 5d all day. i guess the 5d is sorta like a weekend warrior now. so far im loving it.
i hope to update frequently with my 365 project on here as well. since im a few days behind, ill start with yesterday's picture, 8/365:

SUP READERS,

been busy lately, everythings so hectic. ive been here and there, just shot a wedding along with a few friends recently. as for now, im just having some coffee, reading the new york times and reading two legal studies books. on top of that, ive got to read 200 pages about the roots of jazz while listening to a cd with about 85 songs. very cool.

i kinda underestimated this quarter. hey its the last one, im supposed to just enjoy it right? but im overwhelmed! but im still alive... for now. i hope to go on a photo journey around campus when i find some spare time... to get away from it all and relax. so keep an eye out for an update very soon, perhaps next weekend.

hello readers (if any?),

so where have i been these past few weeks? well, the asia tour! sorta. i wished i couldve updated this when i was actually there. but unfortunately, china had blocked blogspot... among with other sites i couldnt live without.
my trip started out with guangzhou, china. went back to the roots, my parents og city. however, i could never live in china. after that, i headed to taishan for a week or so to sightsee and all that good stuff.

on to the pictures, shall we. please enjoy.

on the way back home, i decided to stop by japan for a few days. it was exciting, went to the sky aquarium in roppongi hills, then disneysea in chiba. even though we didnt have much time, i loved every second of it. though i felt like ive lost something precious when i arrived back home..

overall, the trip was amazing. great photo opportunities and it was great seeing old friends and family. i just wished i had more time.

well, im keeping up. heres the second addition to the collection:

today was the first day of instruction. so far, my first class is awesome. assignments in both english and japanese, woohoo...
im dreading japanese 104 though. always dreading japanese. also this linguistics class i have to take... bleh. i cant wait for tomorrow!

i feel like this quarter is going to be busier than ever... work on weekends, thesis in the works, intense classes... well sorta, and musical rehearsals to top it off.

allright, once again.. school has started. my classes are incredibly boring besides japanese. i need a hardcore linguistics review... what on earth is a bilabial and FRICATIVE??? okay. moving on.. film class is just devastating. its begun difficult to find time to take pictures of random things. this year is going to be tough, senior thesis is seriously going to be the death of me. i usually have a hard time setting my priorities straight, but i hope to get it right this time. of course the thesis is on the top of my list, right? and.. the rest of the fun junk on the bottom.
